The Provincial 4-H Public Speaking Competition was held in Gray SK on Saturday April 10, 2010. This event, titled ?Don?t Freak, Just Speak?, was hosted by the Gray 4-H Club of District 14. 32 competitors attended this illustrious event, demonstrating their amazing public speaking abilities.
The day was topped off with an awards banquet at the Regina Travelodge. Apart from an excellent supper, greetings from Saskatchewan 4-H Council president Jackie Andreas, and a visit from Harold the 4-H Hare, everyone also enjoyed guest speaker, 1998 Olympic Gold Medalist, Joan McCusker. Ms. McCusker shared words of wisdom about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
The final awards were given out at the banquet as well. Each member received a medal, a certificate and a commemorative 4-H bag. The top two winners in each age category also received special plaques. Although each speaker did a truly magnificent job, the final results were:
