The Provincial 4-H Ski Day was held on March 3 in four locations in the province. Despite weather issues, there were many 4-H’ers who braved the roads to make it out to the fun activity. Here are some highlights from each hill!
Although the weather was not ideal for travelling; many 4-H members, leaders, parents and friends braved the weather and snowy highways to attend Ski Day at Table Mountain. We had approximately 30 people in attendance with registered members and leaders receiving a $5 meal voucher they could use at the canteen in the chalet. The wind did not dampen anyone's spirit, everyone that walked into the chalet had big smiles on their faces and talked animatedly with with other 4-H'ers about their latest run.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to the hill to do some skiing or snowboarding and showing your 4-H spirit!
The North East Ski Day was held on March 3, 2018 with over 100 participants braving the winds at the Wapiti Valley Ski Hill. It was wonderful to see so many 4-H members, leaders, and parents attend this great event. Thank you to everyone who attended this event to make it a great success!
South West Ski day was held at Hidden Valley Ski resort in the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. There were 37 4-H families in attendance for the day with another 20 coming for the warm weather skiing! Although there was threat of a large snow storm, it seemed to just miss us! We had a fun day of skiing and 4-H connection with a group picture at noon! Your regional specialist even hit the hill after a 6 year hiatus of skiing, and did not fall once!
The SE 4-H Ski Day was held on March 3, 2018 in Mission Ridge Winter Park in Fort Qu’Appelle SK. 100 4-H members, leaders, families and friends braved the winter storm warnings and came out for the day! Thankfully the winter storm hit later in the afternoon, so attendees were able to enjoy most of the day. All 4-H members and leaders also received a free pizza lunch. Special thank you to Tammy Rumpel for assisting with registrations.
